new gaming system

asus vento
Well, I got myself this new gaming system last week which I'm going to be using for some serious gaming (mostly racing sims) and thought I'd post what I found. I put it in this crazy looking Asus Vento case which is pretty fun. It's quite a beast. The system is an Athlon 64 3000+ with a gig of ram, and a Nvidia 6800 GT video card. I put in two of the 10k rpm raptor sata drives and am running them stripped to get some decent hard drive performance. The system is pretty slick and runs everything I throw at it extremely well. I did a 3D mark 2005 test on it and it seems to be running at 4950-5000, which is a giant improvment over my old system which benched at just over 1000. The drives make a big difference in loading and whatnot as well. They are a tad noisy but doesn't matter a whole lot since it's application is gaming, and the games are going to be making alot more noise anyways. All in all I'm very happy with it and am looking forward to getting a cockpit built and playing some GTR
